Designs from Us

Designs below are, as far as I can attest, of my own work-- inspired by historical portraits and testimony.  I try to include examples of design elements as proof and to rest your mind.  Some of my designs are merely fanciful and not necessarily historic.

This page is in a constant state of improvement and renovation.

If you desire to see a design sized for you, please contact us at Designs.by.Rhenn@gmail.com or you can call/text us at  (915) 996-1533.  A good many of the newer designs may be available in the colors and fabrics mentioned with each drawing.  If the garment has been commissioned or already made, the design can be done in different colors and materials.

And of course you can feel free to contact us if you wish for something designed entirely for you alone.

"Mary" Prim Elizabethan Merchant Woman
This easy to wear merchant garb includes a bodice, laced in back, partlet, separating sleeves, skirt, and biggins.

The lightly boned bodice, partlet and sleeves are made from a reddish brown wool and lined in a gray linen.  A pinked design is cut out of the partlet to allow the gray lining to show.  The sleeves are tied into the bodice with ribbon and onto itself with ribbons.
The skirt is from a gray wool and lined in brown cotton.  A band of reddish brown wool or linen will be placed behind pinked design in the gray wool along the bottom.  A brown gross-grain ribbon will run around the bottom (above the pinked design) to accentuate the design.

The biggins will be made of a white linen.

"Peter" Renaissance Court dress for Man
This three piece wardrobe is easily an eye popper!  A doublet, long tabbed jerkin, and paned slops completes this garb.

The under doublet has matching sleeves (removable) and is lined in silk to help with temperature control in those hot summer days.  The jerkin sports long tabbed skirting trimmed with piping that matches the panes on the slops.  It is also trimmed with metallic gold trim.  A cut-away highlights either the slop fabric or is completely cut away to highlight the doublet fabric beneath.

The panes on the paned slops are close together, almost solid and puff. They are shorter, coming to above halfway the quadriceps.  The panes are piped/trimmed in metallic gold.

Fabrics:

  • doublet :  orange and green floral cotton (top of pile)
  • jerkin:  dark orange embossed cotton (bottom of pile)
  • paned slops: orange/dk orange floral polyester (middle of pile)
