The original gown was one piece that had a faux jacket attached. I removed the jacket and pockets (the pockets will become quillows parts) and used the jacket to create the wrist parts and as waist for patterns. The pockets at the breast really left me with a huge issue to deal with which is why the woolen applique is placed as it is. What is nice about the waist cincher is that you can change the belts to go up or down and you can add pouches and accessories quite easily. The arms, left open, also leave room for arm accessories to really dress up the steampunk aspects.
